Nancy Roble Hortman receives "Service to Mankind Award"

On April  17 2014, the  Arapahoe Sertoma Club presented Nancy Roble Hortman, Founder and CEO at ACTS Resource Center, with their "Service to Mankind Award".  As stated on their website, S E R T O M A is an international service organization of business, professional and civic-minded persons dedicated to the betterment of the human community, locally, nationally and abroad. ACTS Taking a Stand, with your help

One of the most common offenses to the poor and veterans are fly by night contractors hiring people for day labor, then not paying them even the paltry wages offered.  The new local blog Colorado Confidential is looking at this and some of the instances that the ACTS Resource Center has stood up and faced some of these contractors. 
Another common issue is that many people simply cannot afford food.  The cost of food versus income causes many to go without.  We are working on a close look at our food bank with a video for our supporters can see what the food bank does, what it needs to do it better, and what  you can do to help.  To help now go to our page here.
